Privacy statement
Here you can read about how we safeguard your privacy.
Your privacy is important to us. Therefore, Caritas Norway complies with the Personal Data Act, which aims to protect the individual against privacy violations through the processing of personal data.
Caritas Norway, represented by the Secretary General, is the data controller for the organization's processing of personal data.
In our privacy policy below, you can read about how Caritas Norway collects and uses personal data. Everyone has the right to know what information we have about our donors, visitors and those who use our services, how the information is processed and by whom. Everyone also has the right to have information corrected or deleted.
It is up to each individual who visits our website whether they want to provide personal data, but this is necessary if, for example, you want to receive our newsletter, make a donation, sign up for a course or become a volunteer. Read more about your rights and Caritas Norway's obligations at The Norwegian Data Protection Authority's pages.
This ensures privacy:
Our website uses cookies to improve your experience of the website by learning more about how you use the information we provide. This is done by placing a cookie in your browser. We do not store information that can identify you personally through this.
Caritas Norway uses the analysis tool Google Analytics to look at user patterns on our website in order to provide visitors to www.caritas.no with better information. Through Facebook's advertising platform and associated cookie, data is collected about which pages visitors have viewed on our website.
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address. The email addresses are deleted when you unsubscribe from the newsletter.
According to section 8 of the Personal Data Act, which deals with the conditions for processing personal data, the data is processed to fulfill agreements with regular donors and supporters, in a register with strict rules.
Caritas Norway does not store sensitive personal data in our register. In the registration form, we ask for the personal data necessary to manage the relationship with donors, including interest in sending reports and results and national identity number for reporting to the tax authorities.
Caritas Norway complies with the current rules for updating reservations against the Reservation Register in Brønnøysund. We regularly update our addresses against publicly available sources.
We use names and addresses for information sharing, project follow-up and marketing purposes. Addresses of those who have registered in the Reservation Register (for those who do not have ongoing agreements with us) are deleted. For those who have ongoing agreements, such as monthly donors or campaign donors, a reservation is registered if the person contacts Caritas Norway and requests this.
To follow up on volunteers, we store their name, date of birth, address, telephone number and email address. Volunteers who work directly with children must also present an impeccable certificate of good conduct and we register that this has been presented (we do not store the certificate itself).
When you register for a course via our website, we ask for your phone number, name, email, postal address, level of education and gender. This is to keep statistics on those who take advantage of our offers and to be able to contact participants with important information related to the course.
Personal data is only shared with other companies or subcontractors who perform tasks on behalf of Caritas Norway. Our partners are also subject to the Personal Data Act and have a separate data processing agreement with Caritas Norway regarding the processing of personal data and the security of this information.
Any person Caritas Norge has registered may request access to the information registered and how we use it. Such information will only be disclosed after a written and signed request to us. In this way, we will ensure that information is not disclosed to unauthorized persons.
By registering on MyPage, you can take control of what personal data you provide us with and how you want to stay in touch with us or stay informed about Caritas 's work.
If you have further questions about our collection and archiving of personal data, please contact our Data Protection Officer at the following e-mail address caritas@caritas.no.
