Seeds that give hope

“Here I am in my cornfield,” Noella says with a smile.

Noella is a dedicated farmer, mother and wife who faced a significant challenge. Her cornfield was ready, but the seeds were missing. At 25 square meters, her field was not just a piece of land; it was all she had to secure her family's future.

Rain and strong sun have ruined her life, as have attacks from predators. But what disappoints her most is when people steal her corn. Noella is completely dependent on a functioning cornfield to provide food and school supplies for her children.

Fortunately, she came into contact with Caritas who distributed 200 kilos of seeds to 200 small farmers in the village. She was one of those who received seeds and training in sowing in rows. She also received tips on how to better protect her plants from predators to ensure good growth.

Noella has faced many setbacks in her life, but she doesn't give up. Her story is an example of some of the challenges many small farmers face today.

Noella's struggle is part of a larger story of resilience and hope. As she stands in her cornfield, she not only holds on to the gifts of the earth; she holds on to the blessing of being able to provide her children with a future of education and opportunity.

The support from Caritas and good people are very important. Helping people like Noella is an investment in society and in the future. Every ear of wheat that sprouts represents not just a crop, but a dream for the next generation
