Family Promise, parent support course
FamilieLøftet is a free course for parents with minority backgrounds who want more knowledge, security and support in their parenting role in Norway.
The course gives participants the opportunity to meet other parents, share experiences and learn more about family life, parenting and Norwegian society. The sessions combine professional presentations, group discussions and practical examples from everyday life.
Topics:
- The role of parents in Norway
- Children's rights
- Communication and relationships in the family
- Everyday life and family life
- School, community and public services
- Exchange of experiences with other parents
Course:
Mother's Promise:
For mothers from minority backgrounds.
Dates: September 14, September 21 and October 12, 2026.
Father's Promise:
For fathers from minority backgrounds.
Dates: October 19, October 26 and November 2, 2026.
Time: 5:00 PM–6:30 PM
Place: Caritas Norway, Storgata 38, Oslo (the course is also conducted at participating Caritas -centers)
Price: Free, including light refreshments.
No prior knowledge is required.
