We desperately need help to make ends meet  

- We face strong competition from other farmers, and I'm struggling to support my family.

Ahmed (29) from the West Bank used to earn a living on a construction site in Israel, but when the Israeli authorities closed the area, he lost all income and the ability to support his family. One of the consequences was that his wife had to stop studying at university due to high costs.     

The Palestinian population in the West Bank has experienced a real disaster since the start of the war between Israel and Gaza. Murders, demolitions, expropriations and economic hardship characterize daily life in local communities.   

Ahmad now works on the family farm and he and his family desperately need help to make ends meet   

 - We face strong competition from other farmers, and I'm struggling to provide for my family," he says dejectedly.   

Caritas is present with humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population in rural areas. The aim is to give people like Amhed the opportunity to create their own livelihoods and feed themselves, as well as freedom from want. 

Ahmed's big wishes are to be able to support his family again, that his son will have a good life, and that his wife will have the opportunity to go back to university to follow her dreams.
