Will guide newly arrived asylum seekers

From June 1, we will be operating the Guidance Service for newly arrived asylum seekers at the National Arrival Center in Råde in Østfold, on behalf of the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI).
The assignment lasts four years, and was awarded after a tender competition between the Norwegian Organization for Asylum Seekers (NOAS), Norasondegruppen AS and Caritas .
The UDI justifies the choice by saying that Caritas shows a very good understanding of the mission and its role in the information program for newly arrived asylum seekers.
In the notification letter, UDI states that: "It is clear in the response that Caritas Norway has a high level of expertise in the field of immigration and the issues the supplier will have to deal with in the assignment.
- We are very excited to start this important social mission, and look forward to good cooperation with all the players at Råde.
Herdis Nundal, Head of National Work and Migration at Caritas Norway
Caritas , which takes over operations from NOAS, already operates resource centers for immigrants in seven Norwegian cities – a frontline service where newly arrived refugees, asylum seekers and others can receive advice and guidance in their own mother tongue.
Head of the Arrival and Transit Unit at UDI, Vivian Ellings Gotaas, looks forward to collaborating with Caritas on the Council.
– We want Caritas Welcome as a new provider of the Guidance Service for newly arrived asylum seekers at the National Arrival Center. At the same time, we would like to thank NOAS for its good cooperation at the arrival center over many years.
