The war in Ukraine continues to claim lives, tear apart families and shatter the futures of millions of people. The most vulnerable – children, the elderly, the sick and the displaced – are suffering from the loss of home, security and hope. In the midst of this tragedy, Caritas remains a steadfast source of support, providing life-saving assistance to thousands, especially in areas close to the front lines.

Caritas encourages everyone to give an extra gift to people in need during the period May 28 – June 10. We are very grateful that all Catholic parishes in the Nordic region are taking up an extra collection on June 1.

The funds raised will go to a new humanitarian project under the auspices of Caritas in Ukraine, which aims to help over 5,000 people with cash for basic needs, hygiene items and support for heating when winter arrives. This initiative prioritizes those living near the front lines and who have limited access to other forms of assistance. Our contribution will go directly to those most affected, serving as a concrete expression of Christian charity and hope.
