Help to better understand Norwegian society

Coming to Norway as a foreigner is not always easy. This is the experience of Sofia (38), who wants a job.

Sofia came to Oslo in 2023 from Hong Kong. Her passion for sustainable technology development made her come to Norway. She has a higher education, but is not familiar with the Norwegian labor market.

A friend told her about Caritas 's job seeker course. Here she learned how to apply for jobs in Norway, and how to write a CV and application tailored to the market. She also received practical interview training. 

- Caritas helps me to understand Norwegian society better. I am very impressed and am treated with respect and love. I'm learning a lot of useful things. I've also made new friends," says Sofia.

Now she is almost ready to work in Norway, and hopes that some employers will want her skills and experience. But first she needs to learn better Norwegian. Sofia is well underway with Norwegian courses and aims to master Norwegian within six months.
