Meet us at Arendalsuka

Arendalsuka is a democratic meeting place for committed people. Caritas are proud to be part of it again and look forward to contributing knowledge and perspectives on topics such as inclusion, development policy, and peace and reconciliation.
In a time marked by global crises and growing inequality, we believe it is more important than ever to talk about solidarity, sustainability and responsibility.
Therefore, we invite you to two very important events:
Tuesday, August 12 at 1:30 PM
How should we structure Norwegian integration policy to respond to current and future challenges?
Norway has undergone significant changes in integration policy over the past 25 years. Today, we face new challenges related to integration, as a result of increased migration, globalization, and changes in the social landscape.
Here we will discuss "The last 25 years of integration policy and the way forward." The event will consist of presentations and a debate where participants can engage in the discussion.
Location: Arendal Art Association 3rd floor.

Wednesday, August 13 at 10:30 AM
Aid for decline – Aid in a new geopolitical reality – How do we ensure impact and results?
Here we will review what is new in Norwegian aid, global aid, and what has happened to transatlantic security cooperation. Many traditional donor countries have cut their aid in favor of armaments, with very dramatic consequences.
The world has changed extremely much in the past year, which forces several questions to arise;
What is happening to Norwegian solidarity?
Are we becoming more myopic, so that we use even more of the aid in Europe?
Is it the aid budget that has to suffer to solve other challenges?
Could we give up the fight for a stable and peaceful world without climate change?
Less money forces tougher priorities – what should go?
These questions and many more will be discussed in the big "Aid 2.0 debate" at Arendalsuka.
Come and hear what the experts and parties believe is important for Norwegian aid in the years ahead.
Location: Arendal Art Association 3rd floor.
